The Art of Trial

Anne has practiced law since 1999, handling many types of complex cases including employment, civil rights, commercial, abuse, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury cases. She is a fierce trial lawyer who thrives in the theatre of the courtroom. Anne looks for the theory that gives a case its force, then finds creative ways to make the facts vivid and the argument clear.

She has handled well over 50 cases to verdict. Years of trial work have sharpened her instinct for strategy, timing, witnesses, and the human dynamics that can change the course of a case.

Anne's passion for the law extends well beyond her own cases. She currently serves as President of the Oregon Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, teaches as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Law School, and helped to create the Oregon ABOTA Masters in Trial CLE series, bringing experienced trial lawyers and judges together to teach attorneys and students practical litigation skills.

Outside the courtroom, Anne spends time with her family and friends who have been part of her life for decades. Anne’s beloved dog Leopold James Barrack Obama Fitz comes to work with her every day and is one of her most trusted advisors particularly when it comes to taking breaks and enjoying lunch. Anne makes time for the people, pets and things she loves and, after decades of practice, is still thrilled every time she walks into a courtroom.
